Biography
As Claudio Domenici, who was born in Florence in 1943, came from a famous of artists (his father, Carlo, was one of best known successors of the macchiaioli school between 1940 and 1980), he adopted the pseudonym of Claudio da Firenze to set himself apart from the famous father, his first maestro.
After attending the Florence Art Institute and The School of Grapfic Arts, he worked as advertising poster and grapghic designer. However, his true passion was painting and very soon he took up the challenge of showing his art in several competitions and shows, inevitably with great success.
From 1968 to the present day, he was held more than 40 " personal show" in Italy and abroad. His favourite subjects are scenes from farming life and maritime activities, with warm and chromatic tones. While preserving the mark of Tuscan macchiaioli, they reveal a strong personality and instinct and show a painter with a great ability for self-expression, permitting him to personally challenge himself with panoramic subjects, just like those depicting the beauty of the region surrounding the Lake of Lugano.
All of these qualities amke Claudio da Firenze one of the most important artist of contemporary figurative painting, not only in Italy but even in Europe and worldwide.
